Position Description Our client is the leading destination for short-form mobile video. Their mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. They have global offices in various locations. Our Search Team is responsible for building and owning our client’s search engine, which provides users with the best search experience. As an Engineering Tech Lead / IC, ML – Search, you will have the opportunity to work on a full-stack search engine system, combining information retrieval technology with modern machine learning methods from related fields such as NLP, CV, and recommender systems. Responsibilities – What You’ll Do – Optimize the searching quality to provide our client’s users with the best search experience. – Utilize modern machine learning and information retrieval techniques to improve search quality and perception, aligning with product objectives. – Develop core systems and algorithms, including query understanding, result ranking, query recommendation, system reliability, and more. – Provide technical leadership to drive search strategy iteration, including query understanding, recall & ranking, query recommendation, reliability, etc. – Guide the team, provide regular feedback, education, coaching, and mentoring. Position Requirements Qualifications – Who We’re Looking For – Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or a related technical discipline. – 5+ years of industry experience. – Experience as a tech lead or leading complex and large projects. – Strong coding skills and a solid foundation in algorithms and data structures. – Experience in one or more of the following areas: NLP, Ranking, Ads, search engine, recommender system, distributed system, and machine learning. – Effective communication and teamwork skills. – Proficiency in languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Golang. |
