Responsibilities – Work as a highly technical and hands-on coder and effective people manager. Give technical leadership and support to your team and stakeholders – Develop architecture management framework for cloud-based NoSQL DBMS and services – Envision and design competitive products/services by researching and identifying current and future NoSQL DBMS technology trends and developing adaptation strategies – Guide the design and development of core database system functionalities and related tools, resolve unique, large-scale, highly complex cloud infrastructure issues – Own the product and service development and operation infrastructure, including monitoring, logging, and automation tools – Establish reliability guidelines and ensure systems meet our goals around durability, availability, and performance Requirement – 3+ years leading a software engineering team and experience in architecting and developing a DBMS product and service from scratch – 5+ years of backend engineering experience working on NoSQL database, cloud infrastructure, production engineering, or systems engineering for DBMS and service – BS or a higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related fields – Expert in database performance optimization and system tuning – Curiosity about new technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship, and quick problem-solving capabilities – A results-oriented attitude and ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment – Strong Go, C/C++, or Java programming skills – Skilled in building trust-based relationships with the team and fellow leaders Preferred Qualifications – Experience with query processing including execution and query optimization, transaction management, storage management, backup, and restore – MongoDB/Cassandra and other database kernel development experience is a plus – Experience building a large-scale high-performance database platform – Knowledge and experience with cloud-native systems including Kubernetes – Knowledge and experience with Linux shell and other scripting languages such as Python etc |
